Russia: New Corona Vaccine 100 Percent Effective
The new Russian corona vaccine is 100 percent effective. That says the Russian regulator Rospotrebnadzor, who, according to news agency TASS, is based on clinical study results.
It concerns the agent EpiVacCorona, which was developed by the Vector institute.
According to Russian media, the corona vaccine does not need to be stored at very low temperatures, as is the Western vaccine from Pfizer / BioNTech. This means it can also be used in remote areas.
The Russians are already using another homegrown vaccine. That drug is called Sputnik V and is said to be 92 percent effective.
The two Russian corona vaccines are not used in the Netherlands. The European regulator EMA has so far only given the green light for Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna resources.
