Poland Will Open Borders for EU Countries on Saturday

Poland will open borders for people from other EU countries on Saturday. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced this on Wednesday.

International flights will be re-admitted to the country from Tuesday.

“In some countries, the situation surrounding the pandemic is still troubling. That is why we are currently limiting the open borders to the countries within the European Union,” said Morawiecki.

The Polish borders were closed in March to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

The country started easing measures a few weeks ago to get the economy going again.

More and more new infections have been detected in Poland in recent days. This mainly concerns employees of coal mines and their family members.

A number of mines have therefore been closed. The number of infections is 27,668, and 1191 deaths have been reported.
