KLM Scraps US Destinations After Tightening Cabinet Entry Rules

KLM will not fly to Las Vegas, Miami and Orlando in the United States for the time being. The cabinet’s tightening of the corona rules for people travelling from the United States to Schiphol is why society cancel destinations.

According to KLM, the fact that the Dutch government has designated the US as a very high-risk area means that vaccinated travellers from the US who are in possession of a negative test statement or proof of recovery must also be quarantined in the Netherlands for another ten days. However, in other countries such as Belgium, France and Italy, the stricter entry rules do not appear to apply.

KLM had already temporarily stopped flying to Miami and Las Vegas but wanted to include these destinations again in its winter schedule. Orlando is a new destination, but with the “triple lock” that is expected for travellers who want to travel from the US to the Netherlands, there is too little demand for tickets. Therefore, Orlando was also removed from the schedule.

KLM still flies to a number of other destinations in the US, including New York and Los Angeles.
