Greece Expects to Start Vaccinating on December 27
Greece expects to start vaccinating people against the coronavirus on December 27.
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Friday that vaccinations would start in hospitals in Athens and Thessaloniki.
Mitsotakis expects the first deliveries of the vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTech to arrive in Greece on December 26.
The country follows the line of the European Union by immediately starting to vaccinate. The Netherlands will vaccinate from January 8.
The first people to be vaccinated in Greece are health workers and residents and carers of retirement homes. The drug still has to be approved, but that will most likely happen on Monday
