Google Docs Crashes If You Use ‘And. And. And. And. And.’ Ticks

A notable bug causes Google Docs to crash, and the document you’re working on is difficult to reopen. It is enough to repeat a few words.

The error, which has been fixed since this morning, was exposed when someone called ‘And. And. And. And. And.’ tapped. In both Chrome and Firefox, the online text editor crashed, apparently in both the free and professional versions.

The error is case sensitive and will crash the online editor if the grammar checker is also enabled. Last night, Google reported that it is aware of the issue on its support pages. In the meantime, the bug can no longer be reproduced, which suggests that Google has solved the problem.

Bleepingcomputer does give advice for those who may not have access to a document: open the file on a mobile device, remove the relevant word combination and afterwards, it should work on a normal browser.
