Disney Settles Lawsuit With Actress Scarlett Johansson

American actress Scarlett Johansson and major film producer Disney have reached an agreement after the actress sued the company for breach of contract.

Both parties have made that clear. Details of the settlement have not been disclosed.

In her contract for the superhero film Black Widow, Johansson had stipulated that the film would first be shown in the cinema before it could be seen via the streaming service because she would share in the profits. So when Disney started streaming the film from the Marvel series almost immediately, Johansson objected.

“I’m glad Disney and I were able to resolve our dispute. I am extremely proud of our work over the years and have enjoyed my creative collaboration with the team. I look forward to continuing our collaboration in the coming years,” said Johansson.

Disney is also happy that the air has cleared. “I am very pleased that we have agreed with Scarlett Johansson regarding Black Widow. We appreciate her contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and look forward to working together on new projects, including Disney’s Tower of Terror.”
