Biden to Church With Top Politicians Before the Inauguration
President-elect Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris attended divine service in Washington just hours before his inauguration as the 46th president of the United States with some top politicians.
Biden went along with his wife Jill Biden and other family members. Harris was accompanied by her husband Doug Emhoff. Senators Mitch McConnell and Chuck Schumer also attended St. Matthew the Apostle’s cathedral.
McConnell is the Republican minority leader in the Senate as of this Wednesday, Schumer is the Democratic majority leader.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi was also invited and is present. Her Republican opponent in the House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, was also there.
Above all, the visit should be a signal of political reconciliation and normalcy.
