Apple is Coming With Its Own Mac Processor Next Year
Apple would announce next month that it is saying goodbye to Intel and running new Macs on self-designed chips.
A rumour that has been running for at least eight years.
According to Bloomberg, Apple will announce at its developer conference WWDC on the week of June 22 that it will equip future Macs with proprietary ARM chips.
With that, it says goodbye to Intel after fifteen years. Currently, the processors of the iPhone and iPad are also based on ARM architecture.
Specifically, these are macs that will be on the market from 2021. Although the exact timing, including the announcement later this month, may still shift.
For example, it will also take some adjustment for developers to keep their software running smoothly on the new chips. Apple and Intel both do not comment to Bloomberg.
